What We Do

Grants

Committed to serving our community, the Board of Trustees focuses on optimizing our resources to make a meaningful difference. We're dedicated to fostering enduring partnerships and expanding our role to welcome fresh organizations and ideas. Our responsiveness to emerging trends underscores our goal of enhancing education and the lives of Cincinnati's young students. To ensure fairness and inclusivity, we operate on an annual grant-making cycle, providing equal opportunities to all applicants. Through these efforts, we aim to uplift our community and contribute to positive change.

What We Do

Programs

Our efforts are channeled into three key areas of need: addressing immediate educational necessities such as school supplies, testing fees, and footwear; providing educational benefits through scholarships, enriching experiences, and engaging field trips; and pursuing systemic change initiatives to eliminate the root causes behind the first two needs. At present, Woodward Trust administers a range of primary programs, each designed to make a lasting impact on the lives of the students we serve.

What We Do

Real Estate

Woodward Trust is the proud owner of a four-acre parcel situated in Cincinnati's vibrant Over-the-Rhine district. Thoughtfully contributed by William Woodward in 1831 and complemented by subsequent donations, these lands are a testament to our commitment to the community. Notably, during the 1970s, select portions were given to the City of Cincinnati to craft recreational parks. As guided by the original trust document, these properties are entrusted to create enduring value. Rather than being sold or gifted, they are leased in fifteen-year terms, often extended to 99-year, renewable ground leases. Emphasizing flexibility, these leases encompass periodic revaluations to ensure fairness, reflecting our dedication to both tradition and adaptability.
